work

layers of luxury

data visualization and street researching

Tasked with analyzing a street in Madrid using data and transforming it into an accurate and compelling data visualization.

Alongside my teammate, we chose Calle Jorge Juan in the upscale Salamanca district, conceptualizing our analysis through what we called "Layers of Luxury."
Our focus was on three key aspects: heritage, consumption, and sound.

We took inspiration from works such as “Time” by Sarah Wigglesworth

Calle Jorge Juan is a fascinating blend of tradition and modernity. Renowned for its high-end boutiques, fine dining establishments, and beautifully preserved architectural landmarks, the street epitomizes luxury shopping and gastronomic experiences.
It draws both locals and tourists seeking exclusivity, creating a vibrant and dynamic urban environment. The street’s architecture is a mix of historic and contemporary styles, with several culturally significant buildings protected for their heritage value.
Our visualization captures this unique intersection of luxury, heritage, and the bustling rhythm of city life. Each layer of data is presented in a visually engaging map, accompanied by a clear key to guide interpretation. This project highlights my ability to combine research, data analysis, and design to tell a compelling urban story through visualization.
