briefed to design a book from scratch, we reimagined “A Moveable Feast” (Paris est une fête) by Ernest Hemingway, as an immersive and nostalgic experience. the interior pairs Hemingway’s original text with selected quotes and images, each reflecting the themes of their respective chapters.
The cover features an engraved map of Paris, marked with white dots indicating locations mentioned in the book, offering readers a visual journey through Hemingway’s Paris.
The typography uses a modern typeface inspired by typewriter text, honoring how Hemingway wrote the book using his notes and typewritten letters.
Japanese binding was chosen to evoke the feel of a personal, handwritten memoir. The black-and-white color palette, accented with subtle touches of color, enhances the timeless and reflective tone of the design.
